Living Green: Extensive Analysis Within Sustainable Energy

Decades of tree and biomass research jointly performed by Florida State University and Shell Energy have contributed to the planting of the greatest single "Energy Crop Plantation" in the entire United States.

This Plantation spans approximately one hundred thirty acres and is home to over two-hundred and fifty-thousand planted trees including cottonwoods (native to the region) and eucalyptus (which are non-invasive) along with several row crops such as soybeans.

This group of "super trees" was brought into being because of the University's joint analysis with other agencies including Shell, the Us Department of Energy, the Common Purpose Institute, as well as groups of various individuals who are working to develop renewable energy sources for the future.

This study is focused on the planting and processing of biomass energy supplies from fast-growing crops referred to as "closed loop biomass" or basically "energy crops".

The project seeks to cultivate "power plants" such as wood-pulp or wood-fiber plants and clean bio-gas to be utilized by industries. Plants such as sugarcane which can be employed for ethanol development and crops like soybeans for bio-diesel fuel production.

University involvement in renewable energy analysis is also going on at Penn State University. At Penn State, specific research is focused on the growth and development of hydrogen power as a practical alternative energy source.

The researchers involved are convinced that mankind is moving toward a hydrogen-fueled economy on account of the needs for us to decrease air pollution and discover other types of energy other than petroleum to power up the United States.

Hydrogen electricity burns clean and can be endlessly renewed, as it could be drawn from water and crop plants. Hydrogen power would thus be a sustainable energy resource to be found within the US' own infrastructure while the world's supply of (reasonably priced) oil peaks and starts to decline.

The University seeks to help with the commercial progression of hydrogen powered fuel cells, which could be usable in place of or in conjunction with combustion engines for all of our motor vehicles.

When President Bush recently announced his alternative energy initiative, he determined that the government would develop five "Sun Grant" centers for concentrated analysis.

Oregon State University has the honor of having been picked as one of these centers, and has been allocated government grants of twenty million dollars for each of the next 4 years in order to accomplish its mission.

OSU will lead the way in researching renewable power as it represents the interests of the Pacific Islands, the US' Pacific Territories, and nine western states. OSU President Edward Ray says, the analysis being conducted through OSU's Sun Grant Center will certainly contribute directly to our meeting President Bush's challenge for energy independence.

Specific research into renewable energy being conducted at OSU by several teams of scientists right now include a project to find out how to efficiently convert such products as straw into a source of renewable biomass fuel. Another one is aimed at studying how to efficiently convert wood fibers into liquid fuel.

Make the effort and conduct your own study on, "energy pendant wiki" and "what is scalar energy?" Once you've done this, support the renewable energy movement by making a wise investment on your own energy pendant.

In his State of the Union Address for 2007, United States President George W. Bush called for a 22% increase in federal grants for research and development of alternative energy.

An Article On The Alternative Energy Source - Free Energy
There has been much debate about what is often called "free" energy-energy that can supposedly, with the right technology, be drawn straight out of the atmosphere, and in very abundant supply.

Vertical Axis Windmills - Learn About Some Of The Key Benefits Of Vertical Axis Windmills Over Horizontal Forms
Vertical windmills aren't such a recent concept. In fact, despite that we are accustomed to seeing horizontal axis windmills, the first windmills invented were the vertical ones. The first functional types were invented in the 9th century, but their design has changed very much over the years in order to get a higher efficiency from them.
